Powered Access Products

To comply with the Working at Height Regulations 2005 all operators of MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) should be trained and competent. Someone with the right level of competency will be able to advise on which equipment is suitable for the tasks involved. If in doubt please contact the Astley Hire Access team.

Astley Hire Training provides IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) training and can issue PAL (Powered Access Licence) so you can fully comply with Health and Safety legislation.

To make equipment selection easier our range here is divided into IPAF categories.

1. The task only needs one man, is inside and straight up. (This suggests a full Risk Assessment may find an IPAF category 1a Static Vertical Lift could be suitable).
2. There are obstructions under the task but we don't need to move about the site too much. The ground may also be uneven. (This suggests a full Risk Assessment may find an IPAF category 1v Static Boom could be suitable).
3. The tasks are straight up and we will need to move around the site. (This suggests a full Risk Assessment may find an IPAF category 3a Mobile Vertical or Scissor Lift could be suitable).
4. There are obstructions under the tasks and we will need to move around the site. (This suggests a full Risk Assessment may find an IPAF category 3b Mobile Boom Lift could be suitable).
